PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and normally conduct press joining of a caulked part of a metal square cylinder. SOLUTION: Press joining by press rollers 11A, 11B, 12A, 12B, 13A, 13B to both caulked parts at both end parts of a preform 1' and widening means 14, 14 toward the direction, where both caulked parts 2, 8 of the preform 1' each other are engaged, are repeated, both caulked parts are gradually press joined at the state maintaining an engaged state, successively, caulking press joining is conducted.
