PROCESS FOR PREPARING PRODUCTS CONTAINING POLYALKENE FIBRES

An improved process for preparing articles containing polyalkene fibres with a modulus of at least 60 GPa and a tensile strength of at least 2 GPa and a thermoplastic matrix consists in preheating the fibres and the matrix polymer to a temperature above the melting point or softening point of the matrix polymer and below the melting point of the fibres and subsequently effecting the moulding step using a device the temperature of which is below the melting point or softening point of the matrix polymer.
