PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To comprehensively, accurately and stably detect defects of printed objects arranged and printed to a preliminarily set plurality of regions to be printed. SOLUTION: In accordance with types of defects generated by a printing method adopted when an object to be printed is printed, an inspection region is set beforehand to a position where defects of each type are generated in data to be inspected. Defects of each type are detected for every inspection region with the use of an image process method whereby the defects of the type can be extracted most easily.
