PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a problem of deterioration of sealing performance caused by abrasion of seal with abrasion powder of rust after generation of rust generated caused by invasion of muddy water to the slide-contact surface of an inner ring to be brought into slide-contact with the seal member, in a wheel bearing device having the weight reduced by setting the width of an outer ring smaller than the width of the inner ring. SOLUTION: A core metal 11a for constituting the seal member 8a is fitted to the outside diameter end of the outer ring 4, a seal lip member 12a joined to and integrated with the core metal 11a is brought into slide-contact with an L-shaped slinger 16 fitted to the outside diameter surface of an inner ring 6, an projecting part 23 facing the side wall 18 of the slinger 16 with a radial clearance is provided on the seal lip member 12a, and a labyrinth seal 25 is constituted between the projecting part 23 and the slinger 16. |
