PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the time from the start of operation of a selection means to the completion of printing by parallely enabling both operations to bring a recording sheet into contact with a sheet feeding roller and to select required printing information among a plurality of printing information. SOLUTION: This printer has an elevation means 14 capable of raising a recording paper sheet 2 to bring it into pressure contact with a sheet feeding roller 13 and separate it therefrom and a selection means (not shown in figure) capable of selection of a plurality of printing information for printing required style of images on the sheet 2. When selection of the information is started with the selection means and the sheet 2 is raised and brought into pressure contact with the roller 13 by the elevation means, and the selection is completed, the roller 13 is rotated to carry the sheet 2 to the side of a printing means, and thereat the printing information selected by the selection means is recorded on the sheet 2.
