PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact transfer device being easily and safely operable for use in transferring a person to be transferred between various beddings, chair or between a wheelchair and a toilet stool by supporting the thighs and the back of the person to be transferred. SOLUTION: This transfer device comprises a lower frame with front and rear wheels movably attached thereto, a post stood on the lower frame, a handrail frame anchored to the post, and seat part and a backrest part locked to a locking element secured to the handrail frame. The lower frame and handrail frame form a backwardly open space S1, and the handrail frames is formed in such a manner as to be capable or rising and falling. Further, the seat part is flexible on side view and is passed through a space S2 formed between the side frame of a wheelchair and the legs of a person to be transferred and can be laid until it holds the thighs of the person.
