PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a softcover book, which can be bound at low cost, and its bookbinding method. SOLUTION: A text 12, on both the sides of which one sheet of end paper 13 having two pages is respectively arranged, is formed. In an unbound edition line, the text 12 is wrapped with an end paper 14A consisting of one sheet having four pages as a temporary cover and then an edge cutting is executed. After that, the resultant text is wrapped with a softcover 15 and then the cuttings of a top edge and of a tail edge are executed so as to realize the bookbinding of the softcover book 11, in which respective four-paged end papers 13 and 14 are arranged on both the sides of the text 12. This bookbinding method eliminates a stripping process of the temporary cover, with which a temporary wrapping is executed, resulting in contriving to save labor and resources and to reduce the production cost of the softcover book.
