PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small grinder in which a dressing and truing device is not greatly projected to the diagonally forward side of a grinding wheel. SOLUTION: In a grinding machine provided with a grinding wheel 2 which is provided on a base 6 to be rotated in a fixed direction by a driving means 10 and which has a tapered grinding part 2a on the outer peripheral surface, and a working station 13 which is provided on the base 6 on one side of the grinding wheel 2 so that it can reciprocate in relation to the grinding wheel 2 and which is capable of grinding the outer peripheral surface of an end part of a work 1 held by a holding means 25 by means of the grinding part 2a of the grinding wheel 2, a dressing and truing device 36 provided with a rotary dresser 5 capable of moving simultaneously in two directions, that is, in a direction parallel to the axis of the grinding wheel 2 and in a direction crossing the same axis at right angles by two forward and reverse driving means 40, 44, is provided on the base 6 on opposite side of the working station 13 with respect to the grinding wheel 2.
