PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding equipment and a welding method with which an optimum welding is executed corresponding to the condition of a welded work composed of a horizontal base material and a vertical base material. SOLUTION: A nozzle 3 welds a horizontal base material 9 and a vertical base material 10 while rocking toward L and R. A welding current is detected and an abnormality in the welding condition is detected by the abnormality in the wave form of the welding current, and a rotary driving part 17, an X-axis driving part 19X, a Y-axis driving part 19Y, and a Z-axis driving part 19Z are driven on the basis of the detected result, and the position of a torch 1 and its moving speed to the proceeding direction of a welding are adjusted.
