PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder, and a method for correcting nonuniformity of density, in which nonuniformity of density is detected easily and automatically with high accuracy without requiring any expensive input unit, e.g. a scanner, and nonuniformity of density can be corrected depending on the detection values. SOLUTION: A pattern of a specified size is printed on a recording medium for each ejection opening or a block of a plurality of ejection openings and irradiated with light from the light emitting section of a photosensor and then the reflected light is measured by a light receiving section. It is then divided by the lowest value of voltages outputted from the light receiving section depending on the quantity of reflected light and a correction value is calculated based on the quotient. Subsequently, an output γ conversion table corresponding to the correction value is determined and used for density correction. |
