PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high wind velocity air washer capable of realizing certain gas removing capacity and high saturating/humidifying efficiency while an increase in wind velocity and miniaturization are achieved. SOLUTION: This high wind velocity air washer is equipped with a water spraying chamber 13 wherein air flows from one air inlet to other air outlet at high wind velocity, multihead water spray nozzles 16 arranged in a row at a plurality of places separated by a predetermined distance along the air passing direction of the water spraying chamber 13 and each spraying water from a plurality of the spray orifices with a small caliber radially attached thereto to air streams under high pressure, the conical or V-shaped gas-liquid contact medium 15 arranged to the air outlet 13b of the water spraying chamber 13 and forming an inclined surface in an air passing direction, a water tank 18 receiving flowing-down sprayed water and a circulating water supply system 19 for circulating and supplying the circulating water of the water tank 18 to the multihead spray nozzles 16.
