PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new intermediate compound used for a new production method of producing a publicly known final product proven as a 5-lipoxygenase inhibitor. SOLUTION: This method for producing a new process intermediate compound expressed by formula I, tetrahydro-4-[3-(4-fluorophenyl)thio]phenyl-2H-pyran-4- carboxamide and a 5-lipoxygenase inhibitor expressed by formula II, is provided by stabilizing a reaction mixture consisting of a compound expressed by formula III with compounds expressed by formulae IV, V, VI and VII in a solvent and in the presence of a carbonate expressed by the formula: (M)2CO3 [M is an alkali metal belonging to I/Ia group and selected from a group consisting of Li, Na, K, Rb, and Cs], then heating the reaction mixture under a nitrogen atmosphere and thereby producing the above compound.
