PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a modified polyvinyl butyral resin capable of enhancing the sensitivity of a photoreceptor without sacrificing the quality of a dispersion liquid when used as a binder in a charge generating layer, as the polybutyral resin for charge-generating dispersions is excellent in coating characteristics and a material preferable as the binder owing to its ability to form the charge- generating dispersion liquid having a long operating time, thus, the sensitivity of the photoreceptor can be reduced by using the polybutyral resin as the binder in the charge-generating layer. SOLUTION: It has become possible to enhance photosensitivity of a photoreceptor by a compound comprising a high molecular compound having a polybutyral part, an optional polyvinyl alcohol part containing 0-about 5 wt.% of hydroxy when OR of the formula is an ester of acetic acid, an optional polyvinyl acetate part and a modified polyvinyl part.
