PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time from a start of stopping to its completion with no burden applied to a valve in a water pressure pipe line, when a water- turbine-driven compressor is stopped. SOLUTION: A compressor main unit 50 is connected to a water turbine 40 through an electromagnetic clutch 68, when a compressor 1 is stopped, connection between the water turbine 40 and the compressor main unit 50 is separated, also a water pressure pipe line 3 connecting between a water source and the water turbine 40 is gradually closed by an electric motor valve MV, so as to close the water pressure pipe line 3.
