PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for conveying a web capable of making the web stably travel by suppressing generation of meandering and one-sided conveyance of the web. SOLUTION: In this web conveying device to convey the web 12 in a floating condition by soating air out from an jet nozzle 24 formed on a conveying face, rotatable edge rollers 16 to support both edge parts of the web 12 are provided on both sides of the conveying face. An extent of floatation can be kept constant since the web 12 is conveyed with both edge parts being supported on the edge rollers 16. Cross directional leakage of the supplied air from the side part can also be prevented, and the web 12 can be made stably travel with a small amount of the supplied air.
