PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition for cables which has excellent flexbility, electroconductivity, hygroscopicity, or the like, as well as a communication cable and a power cable having a resin part composed of the resin composition. SOLUTION: This resin composition for cables comprises an ethylene-type resin and a boron-dissolved carbon black having an electric resistivity according to JIS K 1469 of <=0.1Ω.cm. The resin composition is used for forming a protective member, an inner semi-conducting layer and/or an outer semi-conducting layer for communication cables and power cables.
