PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning method which enables, without the use of special equipment such as an ozone generator, the feeding of water into a nonaqueous solvent without causing clothes to appear shabby or shrink. SOLUTION: A cleaning method is provided, in which a cleaning liquid is prepared by adding a cleaning agent that contains water-soluble chitosan and water to an nonaqueous solvent, and the cleaning liquid is used for the cleaning of clothes.
