PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for dechlorinating and decomposing an organochlorine compound by which the reactional liquid concentration is not raised again by mixing of a liquid having a short treating time in the reactional liquid during the treatment and the required time for treatment is not prolonged when carrying out the dechlorination and decomposition of the organochlorine compound. SOLUTION: The stirring intensity is temporarily raised to thereby temporarily increase the liquid level of the reactional liquid in a reactional vessel a little to a wall surface and effects of deposits on the wall surface of the reactional vessel at the liquid level are resultantly suppressed in the method for dechlorinating and decomposing the organochlorine compound comprising mixing the organochlorine compound with an agent, etc., and decomposing the organochlorine compound by a dechlorinating reaction in the reactional vessel.
