PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for cold-rolling an aluminum sheet at the lowest possible cost of producing a rolled aluminum sheet, which process comprises minimizing the concentration of an aliphatic alcohol or a fatty acid ester added in an amount within the scope not detrimental to the quality of the surface of the rolled aluminum sheet. SOLUTION: A process for cold-rolling an aluminum sheet, comprising rolling the aluminum sheet while lubricating the sheet by introducing a rolling oil containing a 10-18C aliphatic alcohol into between the work roll and the aluminum sheet, wherein the minimum concentration of the added aliphatic alcohol satisfies the relationships: C(a)>=-ln(td)-6.8 wherein Ca(a) (wt.%) is the concentration of the aliphatic alcohol. |
