PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expansion joint for road capable of easily and efficiently replacing only a damaged or broken part, even if the expansion joint is partially damaged or broken, and performing an economically efficient work. SOLUTION: This expansion joint 1 is formed of pluralities of inner horizontal beams 4a and outer horizontal beams 4b arranged in a clearance part 3 between pavements 2 in parallel, and a load support beam 6 inserted to the through-hole 5 formed in the inner horizontal beam 4a and the outer horizontal beam 4b. The through-hole 5 has a prescribed space part S so that the load support beam 6 can be smoothly inserted. Face plates 7a, 7b, and a lower structure 9 vulcanization adhered to the inner horizontal beam 4a and outer horizontal beam 4b through a rubber elastic body 8 such as rubber are divisionally constituted in the clearance (h) between the inner and outer horizontal beams 4a, 3b and between the inner horizontal beams 4a, and the face plates 7a, 7b are connected to the lower structure 9 through a fastening member 10 in such a manner as to be replaceable.
