PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake device capable of always making the intake of seawater containing none of suspended sludge by adopting a half pipe member curvedly holding an intake pipe upward and a pedestal and floats or the like preventing the settling and sliding-down thereof. SOLUTION: An intake device is constituted of a pedestal 1 preventing the front end of an intake pipe from being settled and slid down, fixed members 2 located on the upper surface of the pedestal 1 and a holding member 6 of the intake pipe 7 provided to the fixed members 2. The holding member 6 is formed of lower half-pipes 6a curved upward and upper fastening members 6b. The upper end of the holding member 6 is widely opened in the shape of a bugle by joining the upper end thereof with a divided member 6c to form an opening 8. Floats 10 are mounted to the open end 9 of the intake pipe 7 as an intake. The intake pipe 7 is maintained in an upright state by the floats 10.
