PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent environmental pollution caused by scattered dust in a treatment apparatus for converting waste such as garbage into compost by fermentation, reducing the volume of waste, or eliminating waste. SOLUTION: In a waste treatment apparatus having a fermentation tank 1 and a ventilation means 2 for ventilating the tank 1, a dust separating means 3 for the centrifugal separation of dust in exhaust gas by swirling the exhaust gas is installed in an exhaust passage 12 from the tank 1, and dust separated by the means 3 is returned to the tank 1.
