PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument of measuring refractive power of an eye by which lateral variation of focus position of eyeground index image relative to the CCD sensor is solved by the CCD sensor side of the light receiving optical unit instead of the lens side of the light receiving optical unit. SOLUTION: This instrument is provided with the eyeground index light projection optical unit 20 that projects eyeground index light to the inspected eyeground 3, the light receiving optical unit for eyeground index image 30 that guides the eyeground index image reflected by the eyeground 3 to a photoelectric detector 39, and driving device 41 that moves the photoelectric detector 39 laterally to the optical axis 7.
