PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy method of application of metal plating to a material composed of electrical non-conductor e.g. silicone rubber conventionally considered to be difficult or incapable of plating with metal. SOLUTION: Moisture curing resin is applied to the surface of a basis material composed of an electrical non-conductor, and this moisture curing resin is dried and cured to form a primer layer. Then a metallic catalyst having catalytic activity to electroless plating metal is brought into contact with the above primer layer to form a metallic catalyst layer. Further, electroless plating is applied to form a metal plating layer.
