PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator hall even at a landing between the first and second floors. SOLUTION: Car doorways 23a and 23b are provided on two sides of an elevator car 23, and a hall hatch 20b at the landing between the first and second floors is formed in the stair side wall surface 21a of the pit 21, while a hall hatch 20a at the first floor is formed in the other wall surface 21b to the stair side wall surface 21a, and thereby interference of the door 6 at the first floor hall with the door 6 at the landing between the first and second floors is avoided.
