PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To widely reduce the number of parts of a recording device body so as to facilitate production steps and reduce the production cost. SOLUTION: A detection hole 11 and fixing means 21-24, 31-34 are provided so that the starting position of the detection hole 11 is made closer to a tip of a paper feeding support 1 than a tip of large size recording paper sheet 2a while the termination position is more away from the tip of the support 1 than the tip of paper 2a and is the same with a tip of small size recording paper sheet 2b, and the positional relation in the orthogonal direction to the carrying direction of paper sheets is made such that it may be inner than one end of the large size recording paper sheet 2a while outer than one end of the small size recording paper 2b. In the case that the setting is made at the inner side of the support 1 according to the sizes of sheets 2a, 2b, detection times of the detection means whether there is a paper sheet or not differ, and using the difference, a control means recognizes that the case of short time is the outer setting while the case of long time is the inner setting.
