PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display and record transparent images having a large image angle and a perspective feeling and easy to see and facilitate safety confirmation when shrinking, composing, and displaying two camera images. SOLUTION: The image outputted from on-vehicle cameras 11-14 are selected by a switching controller 18 using the information from a vehicle speed detector 15, a front/rear detector 16, and an instruction input unit 17 and are stored on image memories 21, 22 by an address generators 19, 20. The orthogonal coordinates are converted into the perspective coordinates by coordinate converting circuits 23, 24, and the images are composted by a composite circuit 25 and displayed on an image display unit 26. The coordinate converting circuit 23, 24 are formed with ROM and converts the images with the reduction ratio at the side section of a screen kept smaller than the reduction ratio at the center section. The image data compressed by an image compressor 27 are recorded on a disk recorder 28 and reproduced by an expander 29. |
