PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a prepreg capable of simply manufacturing a machine member made of a synthetic resin having easy molding, a light weight, excellent mechanical strength and wear resistance, high degree of freedoms of dealing with a thickness, and a complicated shape. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a prepreg comprises the steps of primarily pressurizing to punch a papermade sheet 7 containing a thermoset resin and reinforcing fiber as main components by using a pressing die 50, stacking a plurality of obtained moldings in a space 23 provided in a lower die 20 of the die 50, secondarily pressurizing it to temporarily clamp it, and repeating this step at desired number of times.
