PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an extra-thin hot-rolled steel strip without lowering the yield from one piece of a crude bar. SOLUTION: A slab cast with a continuous caster 1 is directly fed to a rogher rolling mill 2 without passing through a slab reheating furnace and formed to the crude bar with the rougher-rolling. The crude bar is heated over the whole width direction during passing through a solenoid type induction heating device 3, and after giving a prescribed temperature distribution in the longitudinal direction, this bar is formed to the hot-rolled steel strip by finish-rolling with a finish-rolling mill 4. Then this steel strip is cooled with spray water on a hot-run table 6 and wound into coilers 8 at a prescribed temperature. Two or more of the hot-rolled steel strip coils are made to produce from one piece of the crude bar and formed as >=1.2 mm thickness of a first hot-rolled steel strip to secure the running ability on the hot-run table 6. In an on and after second hot-rolled steel strip, the coil having the thickness thinner than that of the first coil, is produced.
