PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a center differential for maintaining high differential limiting force and distributing basic driving torque with front and rear wheels having grounding force in balance. SOLUTION: The center differential comprises a differential gear case having a ring gear integrally formed to be connected to a drive pinion, front and rear side gears inserted into the front and rear sides of the case, spline-joined to a driving shaft and having helical gear teeth formed on the outer periphery, pinion gears engaged in a pair with the side gear through a gear groove in the case, and washer members for friction members provided between the side gear and the case and between the side gears. The pinion gear is arranged in the direction of a preset-angle oblique line, the case has an outer diameter gradually larger as tending from the rear side to the front side so that power is transmitted with a driving torque distribution ratio differentiated between the differential gear case and each of the front and rear side gears, the outer periphery line has a preset-angle oblique line, the side gear has a diameter gradually larger as tending from the rear side to the front side so that it is engaged with the pinion gear in the direction of the oblique line, and the tooth line is formed in the direction of the oblique line.
