The municipal waste water biological treatment effluent filtration consists of a gravity or pressure filter based technique employing natural zeolite filter material rich in linopt. An air-water back-washing system uses some of the filtered water to give accelerated formation of a stratified clean filter bed. Activated sludge, anaerobic treatment reactors and oxidation lakes are utilized in the technique.
