PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device is provided to reduce the period of injecting a liquid crystal without degrading the appearance near the injection port for the liquid crystal. CONSTITUTION: The liquid crystal display device has a pair of substrates(110,120), a liquid crystal(LQ) held between the substrates(110,120), a shading region(41) formed in the outer periphery of a display region(40), an edge sealing member formed further outer periphery of the shading region(41) except for an injection port for the liquid crystal, and an injection port sealing member(33) formed on the injection port. Particularly in the liquid crystal display device, the shading region(41) near the injection port consists of a shading pattern(SP) made of a resin having specified thickness and a color filter(24) thinner than a specified thickness are two-dimensionally present as mixed.
