PURPOSE:To automatically vary the delivery speed of curtain flow discharged from an air curtain device and keep side wind cutoff effect in a satisfactory condition by varying supplied electric power with a variation in resistance value of a variable resistance element caused by outdoor wind pressure detected by a wind pressure sensor. CONSTITUTION:An increase in wind pressure detected by a wind pressure sensor 2 in case of strong wind outdoors causes a reduction in the resistance value of a variable resistance element in a control box 3, an increase in electric current flowing in a motor 4, and an increase in the torque of the motor 4. As the delivery speed of curtain flow discharged from the mainbody 1 of an air curtain device is increased to prevent wind from invading into the room inside from the outdoor, side wind cutoff effect is able to be maintained. In case of almost no wind condition outdoors, a reduction in wind pressure detected by the sensor 2 leads to an increase in the resistance value of the variable resistance element and a reduction in current flowing in the motor 4, and therefore unnecessary power consumption is saved.
