PURPOSE: A plasma display panel is provided to increase brightness of AC type PDP equipped with retaining electrodes which consist only thick metal films. CONSTITUTION: Retaining electrodes(10, 20) made of thick metal film consist of bases(15, 25) that extend along the second direction D2, and projections(16, 26) that are connected to the bases(15, 25), and extend toward the retaining electrodes(10, 20) on the other side with respect to the base(15). The projections(16, 26) consist of respective two of the first portions(161, 261) are connected to the bases(15, 25) at ends in the second direction D2 and extend along the first direction D1, the second portions(162, 262) that are connected to the ends of the retaining electrodes(10, 20) among ends in the first direction D1 of the first portions(161, 261), and mutually connect two of the first portions(161, 261), the third portions(163, 263) that are joined to the first portions(161, 261) from the far side of the second portions(162, 262) and mutually connect the two of the first portions(161, 261). |
