PURPOSE: To provide a paper money storage cassette able to carried develop to close its large aperture to prevent paper money from being taken out through the aperture. CONSTITUTION: When payment with paper money is requested, a fan 55 is made to drive to generate negative pressure in a suction box. A microprocessor turns on an electric motor to operate a carrying mechanism 90, and further, an electric motor 66 is operated to move an extraction mechanism 50 to a required position. Thus, paper money existing on the surface of stacked paper money is sucked into the large opening of the suction box. Next, an electric motor 73 is operated to rotate upper and lower rolls 53 reversely for a required period. Then, the paper money sucked toward the opening is slightly pulled down. As a result, each upper corner of the paper money sucked into the suction box is separated from each tab to make flexure due to negative pressure. The flexure makes the sucked paper money separated from the other paper money in a cassette 20.
