PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking method for processing voltage regenerated by motor braking though software and hardware and quickly and gently braking a washing machine. SOLUTION: This braking method for a washing machine is constructed of a braking mode determination step (a) determining whether a motor is braked or not, an initial data setting step (b) outputting a control signal with a modulated pulse width after setting an initial phase and a duty ratio matching a voltage given to a system when a barking mode is determined in a step (a), a step (c) comparing the dimension and fluctuation range of a voltage with a reference level set inside after setting the initial data in the similar way to the step (b) and sensing a voltage given to the system, and a step resetting a control phase and a duty ratio matching the sensed voltage until the motor is stopped if the comparison result of the step (c) shows that the dimension and fluctuation range of the voltage is lower than the reference level set inside for controlling a motor driving unit. |
