PURPOSE: A cathode for secondary lithium ion battery is provided which has simultaneously advantages of a carbon material that has a flat discharge curve and a good cycle characteristics, and of an amorphous metal compound which has high charge and discharge capacity, by coating the carbon material with an amorphous metal compound formed by using metal which can be alloyed with lithium. CONSTITUTION: A secondary lithium ion battery(1) is characteristically comprises a cathode(2) and an anode(3) in a sheet form a separator(4) positioned between the cathode(2) and anode(3), electrolyte that impregnates the cathode, anode, and separator, a battery container having cylindric shape, and an enveloping member(6) for the battery container, wherein the cathode(2) is made by coating a cathode alloyed material containing cathode material with a collector such as a copper sheet, wherein the cathode alloyed material includes a cathode material, conductive material such as black lead, and a binder such as polyvinylidene fluoride , wherein the cathode material is made by coating at least a part of the carbon material surface where lithium can be easily absorbed or discharged, with an amorphous metal compound which can be alloyed with lithium. |
