PURPOSE: A novel substituted dimer compound, its preparation method and a pharmaceutical composition containing the compound are provided, which compound is useful for treating or preventing melatoninergic disorders. CONSTITUTION: The substituted dimer compound is represented by A-G1-Cy-G2-Cy'-G3-B, wherein A is -NR1C(=Q)R2, -NR1C(=Q)NR2R3 or -C(=Q)NR2R3; B is -NR1C(=Q)R2, -NR1C(=Q)NR2R3, -C(=Q)NR2R3, -C(=Q)OR1, -NR1C(=Q)OR2 or -NR2R3; G1 and G3 are the same or different each other, and are a linear or branched alkylene chain of C1-C4 substituted with a group selected from OH, a carboxy group, a formyl group, -Ra, -ORa, -COORa and -CORa; Cy and Cy' are different each other and are a cyclic group represented by the formula(2) or 3; and G2 is -W1-(CH2)n-W2-(CH2)m-W3-. In the above formulas, Q is S or O; R1, R2 and R3 are the same or different each another and are H or -Ra, or R2 and R3 form a piperazinyl, piperidyl or pyrrolidyl group together with the nitrogen atom bound to them; W1, W2 and W3 are the same or different each another and are O, S, -CH2-, -CHRa-, -NH- or -NRa-, wherein two hetero atoms cannot be contained continuously and at least one unsaturated bond can be contained; n and m are an integer of 0-6, respectively; and Ra is an alkyl group of C1-C6, an alkenyl group of C2-C6, an alkynyl group of C2-C6, a cycloalkyl group of C3-C8, a cycloalkyl-alkyl group of C3-C8, a polyhaloalkyl group of C1-C6, an aryl group, an aryl alkyl group of C1-C6, an aryl alkenyl group of C2-C6, or a heteroaryl alkenyl group of C2-C6.
