PURPOSE: To provide an input unit and a method for manufacturing the input unit wherein the number of parts can be reduced, the thickness and the size of the unit can be reduced, and assembling is facilitated. CONSTITUTION: The input unit 18 is used for a user to input desired commands by operating the unit, and is provided with an enclosure 12 having a slit portion 40, a sheet-like switch portion 140 placed in the enclosure in correspondence with the slit portion 40, a board 170 placed in the enclosure, and an electrical connection portion 190 which is elastically deformed during assembly of the enclosure, thereby electrically connecting the board 170 with the switch portion 140.
