PURPOSE:To prevent a vibration from occurring as well as to make a finished surface into flatness, by shifting a linear abrasive body in the same orbit as an electrode orbit while sliding the linear abrasive body made up of sticking powdery abrasive grains to the surface of a wire rod of the same diameter as an electrode wire for electric discharge machining. CONSTITUTION:A linear abrasive body 10 made up of sticking an abrasive 12 of diamond powder of 5-6mu or so in grain size to the whole surface of a wire rod 11 of 0.2-0.3mm in diameter is charged to an electric discharge machining cutter like an electrode wire. This abrasive body 10 is made contact with a polishing surface 14 of a clamped workpiece 13, while it is shifted in the same orbit as an electrode orbit at the time of electric discharge machining while making it in slide motion in one direction or reciprocating motion, thus the polishing surface 14 is polished into flatness with this abrasive body 10. |
