<p>PURPOSE: To enable high-speed and high-accuracy matching processing immune to noise while considering the location of characters by preparing the distribution of voting in the oblique direction concerning the voted matrix and discriminating the matching result on the basis of the peak value of the prepared distribution of voting. CONSTITUTION: A comparative voting part 18 compares a dictionary character string with a search character string and discriminates whether it is the same character or not. On the basis of this discriminated result, voting is performed at the position, where the same characters cross, in the matrix prepared on a memory 17 for matrix. A shape preparing part 19 takes the oblique shade of 45°from the matrix of the voting result and stores it in a memory 20 for shade. Corresponding to whether a point based on the peak value of shade is equal to or higher than a prescribed point or not, a matching determining part 21 judges whether it is a high point or not. When it is judged by this judgement the peak value is a high point, it is discriminated that the search character string and the dictionary character string are matched, and the matching result is outputted.</p> |
