PURPOSE: A split type air conditioner and control method thereof are provided to variously select discharge angle of air and efficiently reduce scattering of air processing area. CONSTITUTION: An indoor unit of an air conditioner includes a casing; multiple blast fans(15,17); multiple driving motors(35,37); multiple temperature sensors(21,23); and a controller. The casing has an air inlet and multiple air outlets(31,33) formed thereon. The blast fans are installed on the air outlets, respectively. The driving motors rotate the blast fans correspondingly with the blast fans. The temperature sensors detect room temperature. The controller controls at least one of the driving motors based on difference between temperatures detected by the temperature sensors.
