<p>Bulk material discharge apparatus, comprising a transverse conveyor at the end face of a longitudinal rake conveyor, is new. Apparatus for discharging blockage-forming bulk materials is in the form of a horizontal transporter comprising a rake conveyor which operates on the upper material surface and which is associated at its end face with a transverse conveyor used to divert material flow towards a discharge opening. Preferred Features: The transverse conveyor is a screw conveyor with threads leading to its middle region which is equipped with one or more paddles for diverting material into a discharge shaft (5). The discharge shaft (5) is separated from the paddle(s) by a curtain (5i) which consists of rubber strips (5b, c) and which is stabilized by a bulkhead during filling of a silo (1). The shaft (5) extends over the entire height of one end of the silo (1) and is provided with a closable longitudinal slit (5a) acting as a material supply opening and extending over the entire height of the shaft so that material is discharged into the discharge shaft at the height of the transporter. A dosing chamber is provided at the lower end of the discharge shaft and operation of the transporter is initiated depending on the degree of filling of the dosing chamber.</p> |
