PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a USB multi-end point optical converting apparatus for general-purpose optical conversion of multiple connections of peripheral equipment on the cable of USB, while adding an adapter in simple configuration without lowering the speed because of the limit of USB delay time and without requiring the alteration of the host side of USB or the peripheral equipment. SOLUTION: USB input data and input data from peripheral equipment are packetized by each internal frame cycle Tf by serial packet converting means C1 and C2 of a USB optical converting adapter 1 on the side of a personal computer and a peripheral equipment optical converting adapter 2 on the side of the peripheral equipment, and by conducting mutual optical communication between optical converting means L1 and L2 this apparatus is obtained.
