PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter which can be manufactured by an ink jet system by the simple driving of a head and to provide a liquid crystal display device equipped with the color filter. SOLUTION: The color filter used for the liquid crystal display device is formed by fixing ink in a plurality of colored areas 5 on a substrate and the lateral dimension W1 and longitudinal dimension L1 of each colored area 5 and intervals G1 and G2 between the areas are set to integral multiples of the diameter of one dot of ink jetted from an ink jet used to manufacture the color filter.
