PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably and flexibly cope with commodities of computer and television(TV) manufactures going ahead with a wide variety of products by sharing components and models of a liquid crystal display device, and to simpli fy maintenance of the liquid crystal display device installed on a computer, a TV set and a display monitor therefore, preferably, to omit positional adjustments between a light source unit and a liquid crystal display panel at maintenance. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display device comprises a 1st case 1, a 2nd case 2, and a 3rd case 3, the liquid crystal display panel 4 fixed between the 1st case 1 and the 2nd case 2, and a light source including a cold cathode tube 61 fixed to the 3rd case; the 2nd case 2 and the 3rd case 3 are removable; the 1st to the 3rd cases 1-3 are constructed by being piled up; a timing converter board 7 is fixed on the reverse face of the side of the 3rd case 3 on which the cold cathode tube 61 is fixed; projections 31 for protecting the parts of the timing converter board 7 are formed on the reverse face; and the projections 31 decide the maximum thickness of the liquid crystal display device.
