PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform communication based on two standards of RS232C and USB and to simultaneously guarantee the execution of communication, which is based on only standard concerning peripheral equipment which is connected with host equipment, such as personal computer by a communication cable and operates, while communication is conducted with the host equipment through that communication cable. SOLUTION: This equipment is provided with a serial connector 411 of a type based on RS232C, USB connector 412 of a type based on the USB communication standards, on USB interface 421 for performing communication based on USB via the serial connector 411, and serial interface 422 for performing communication based on RS232C via the USB connector 412.
