PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device improved in reliability by surely transporting medium without paper jamming regardless of printing condition by properly changing the transporting form of medium in accordance with the printing condition. SOLUTION: This device performs the color printing by adopting a first transporting route A for successively transporting paper P being a medium from a photoreceptor drum 8Y on the highest upstream from an aligning mechanism part 12 over the photoreceptor drum 8K on the supreme downstream to a transferring section between a transfer belt 10, and to perform the black and white (monochrome) printing by adopting the second transporting route B for directly transporting the paper to the transferring position between the photoreceptor drum 8K on the lowest downstream in a state of inclining a transfer unit Y and the transfer belt 10, particularly in a monochrome printing sequence transferring the image by only the monochrome photoreceptor drum for instance, in the case when both side printing is designated at least, remaining one-side printing time, the first transporting route is used instead of using the second transporting route.
