PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiency lower the concentration of discharge products, such as ozone and NOX, generated even when a transfer device is used for an ion generator capable of discharging electricity with the voltage smaller than that of a corona charger. SOLUTION: When the ion generator 20 which consists of an induction electrode 22 and ion generating electrodes 24 formed across a dielectric substance 23 and induces aerial discharge and generates the ions by impressing an AC voltage between the induction electrode 22 and the ion generating electrodes 24 is used for a transfer device 6, the ion generator has a photocatalyst material 40 for cracking the discharge products near the discharge point, thereby efficiently decomposing ozone and NOX which are the discharge products generated near the discharge point and lowering their concentration.
