PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording symbol reader where a shading part is generated by the oblique arrangement of a reader and a reading defect is not generated. SOLUTION: An image sensor 21 which optically reads the information recording symbol 4 of a prescribed area, which is printed on a printed matter 1, by a data reading port 15, a decoding part converting the information recording symbol into corresponding prescribed data based on picture data which is read by the image sensor 21, an illumination device illuminating the information recording symbol 4 are installed in an information recording symbol reader 7. The illumination device has a light source 18 emitting the wavelength light of a prescribed range and a capacitor lens 16 which can convert radiated light from the light source 18 into almost parallel light. |
